Some words about me

Returning to the Netherlands after a trip I always loved the typical Dutch country side, canals, dikes lush green and flat. Many travellers to the Netherlands only know about Amsterdam, Volendam and Kinderdijk. I enjoy taking you off the beaten path and giving you a true local experience.

Experience

I got my degree in Graphic Design, but not long after high school the travel bug got me. Backpacking in Australia, New-Zealand and Indonesia. Trip to Nepal. Cooking on a dude ranch in Wyoming. Tour guide in Peru, Southern Africa, Mexico and Guatamala. Done it all! 🙂

My favourite places

The last 4 windmills in the Netherlands which are still pumping water. The roads are to narrow for big tour buses. A 30 minute walk along these windmills with lots of birds and sheep is always a great experience.
Most people are not aware the Netherlands has some great beaches at the North Sea. A stop for lunch here is always a wonderful treat for my guests and myself.

Some words about me

After 15 years of travelling and working in Latin America and Asia I enjoy being back in the Netherlands. Although our young twin girls keep me busy, I love to spend time showing guests Amsterdam and Holland. Especially a scenic bicycle ride in the countyside and a culinary walk through the historic Jordaan.

Experience

After 4 years Social and Cultural studies, I traveled Asia, and later Latin America. Ten years I worked abroad as a tourguide, taking Dutch travelers to the most impressive places. Now I have settled down in the beautiful city of Amsterdam where I have been a passionate guide for 6 years.

My favourite places

From Amsterdam it is an easy bike ride to surprising picturesque villages, offering an unique view of the countryside. Get some fresh air, while cycling on top of a dike, next to the water.
I also love the beach area, where you can experience flowers, forest and dunes close to the beaches. This, combined with a local café and good company, is all you need!

Some words about me

I am addicted to traveling and love being on the road. As the Roman philosopher Seneca said: Travel and change of place impart new vigor to the mind. I have a zest for life and adventure, am thrilled to discover things unknown. That’s why I changed career after law school. I combine guiding with journalism and have built my life around collecting and sharing stories & travel experiences.

Experience

I have been traveling from a very early age with my parents, spent 10 years in Belgium and 4 years in Africa as an overland guide (camping safaris). At the moment I live in Rotterdam, the coolest city in The Netherlands. I often host couch surfers and traveling cyclists from around the globe and love showing them around.

My favourite places

Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Brussels. I know these cities like the back of my hand.

Spoken languages

Born and raised in the Netherlands. Traveling since 1980. Tour guide since 2004.
