Some words about me
After exploring the world by travelling independently, I’ve been a tour guide across the globe since 2003. Accompanying tourists to -for them- new and exhilarating destinations, seeing their enthousiasme, fills me with joy and energy. Through their eyes I see the beautiful places, like I saw them the first time.
Since I was 6 months old, my parents took me across Europe during holidays, sleeping in tents. During my studies I ventured outside Europe for the first time. Taking an internship for my study Engineering in South Africa. A country in transition, as a few months before Mandela had come to power. After graduation I traveled extensively to Central America, South America and Asia. I didn’t want to give it up for a desk job and became a tour guide.
My favourite places
There are many but the windmills at Kinderdijk are at the top. A very pretty place with stunning windmills, where my engineering heart gets touched by the ingenuity of the Dutch people. Another favourite place I encountered during a long bicycle ride when I reached the ‘Venice of the north’, Giethoorn. Loved the picturesque canals with, wooden bridges and thatched roofed farm houses, making this an unforgettable sight
